Wallace & Gromit drive for a million wrong trousers

Record 250,000 already registered for Wrong Trousers Day, Friday 29th June

Wallace & Gromit start a national trouser tour on Monday in their Wallace-and-Gromit-mobile, in a bid to get a million Brits to don sporty legwear and support sick children on Wrong Trousers Day on Friday 29th June. The famous friends motor to ten children's hospitals and hospices in ten cities in just five days, during which they will hand over £100,000 for sick children on behalf of Wallace & Gromit's Children's Foundation.

A record 250,000 people have already registered on www.wrongtrousersday.org for the sports-themed day, supported by Sanofi-aventis, that asks people to team up, pay a £1 and wear sports-themed legwear to work or school. In a bid to hit the magic million, Wallace & Gromit are launching a national competition to find the people with the wrongest wrong trousers in the land. Sporting Brits who join the wrong revolution online and photo themselves on Wrong Trousers Day have the chance to go up against trousertastic celebrities for a national online vote for the crown of Wrongest Wrong Trousers in the UK. The winners receive a visit by Wallace and Gromit for tea, cheese and biscuits at an event of their choice. And if that isn't your cup of tea, there's a Landrover driving experience on offer.

Wallace and Gromit start in Bristol and Winchester and then cruise to children's hospitals and hospices in Nottingham, Birmingham, Sheffield, Manchester, Stockton, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow in a cracking national trouser tour. The Foundation raises money for over twenty UK children's hospitals and hospices. The much needed money from the children's charity will fund everything from teaching and mobility aids, music therapy and play rooms, to uplifting activities and emergency equipment for terminally ill children.

Nicola Masters, Director of Wallace and Gromit's Children's Foundation, says 'A million wrong trousers means £1m for sick children in the UK. Team up today and get your kit on this Wrong Trousers Day on 29 June, and help us reach the magic million for the kids who need it most. Register online today and your £1 will contribute to a better, brighter future for the children we support.'
