Mike Waldron will join colleagues from the British Council and experts from across Europe in Inter Cultural dialogue, in planning for a new British Council programme for young leaders, called Inter Cultural Navigators, The meeting will take place in Helsinki, Finland between 3 and 5 March 2008.
The ICN project aims to develop an international network of young and diverse influencers (the “Navigators”) and equip them with leadership skills and intercultural competencies, which will enable their communities to fully benefit from opportunities presented by globalisation and minimise the risk of exclusion and marginalisation.
The objective of the Helsinki workshop is to develop the foundation for the project’s training programme which will enable project participants to develop their cultural literacy and leadership skills. The programme will subsequently be rolled out in participating countries in the autumn of 2009.
