Global Media Monitoring preliminary results

global tolerance is pleased to follow The Global Media Monitoring Project’s development. On their website it says: ‘The GMMP is democracy in action, it is civil society making their voices heard, and best of all it reminds us of our humanity as it is done not for money but for positive change, and to be a part of that is truly remarkable’.
The GMMP is the largest and longest longitudinal study on the representation of women in the world’s media, organised by the World Association for Christian Communication since 1995. Its results have been applied by gender and communication groups around the world, recognizing that media monitoring has the potential to lead to democratic, professional, more equitable and diverse media systems. The final global, regional and national reports will be released in September 2010. Until then, the preliminary project can be read on www.whomakesthenews.org. It makes a fascinating read!
